Hey sorry to interrupt you but I want to talk to you bout the career of a Police Office, so if you don't mind turn off your car and listen up before you get taken to jail. What does it mean to be a Police Officer? something that you might be asking yourself well to be a Police Officer is to be able to help, serve, and protect the city or country you were raised in and to do the impossible to do the right thing when some people can make those decisions themselves. The reason i'm interested in this career is because I want to help and protect people that can't protect themselves. I don't wanna see any family to go through any type of pain. The topics that I will be discussing on here are the requirements to be able to work in this career, the history and the background of it, and the job positions.

The Start Of Law And Order

The Career of Law Enforcement has been relevant to the United States since the 1830s. At first before any police establishments came to be multiple states had nightwatchmen which were like police officers in a way. The states that had such a thing were Boston, Philadelphia and New York.Years later in the 1830s cities started to get the police establishments and by the 1880s every city in the U.S had a police establishment.Originally this career started out in England when England wanted to have a communal and informal policing colones which was referred to as watching and they wanted to have some type of private profiting. One of the famous historical figures that I know is Clint Hill. He was successful because once he came back from his three year military deployment he was assigned to protect president Eisenhower. He became a historical figure because he shield Kennedy's wife from any more gun fire. As the years went by he was recognized with an act of bravery but he also got PTSD from not being able to do anything to protect the president.

Stats In Order To Be Officer Ready

In order to achieve this career you'll need to have a high school diploma and complete the training from a police academy. There also other requirements such as must be at least 21 years old this is a requirement in most apartments. Have U.S citizenship,a valid driver license and a clean record. There is another requirement which is take a written test and a physical one which the academy provides. The degree you'll need to be in the law enforcement scene are to complete an associate or bachelor's degree program in criminal justice. The college i'm interested in offers the Law Enforcement program. The college i'm going to go to is DePaul. Some goals that I will need to set for myself in order to accomplish my future career is to pass all my classes and never lose motivation to do my best. It will take me a two to four years to complete it but it will be worth it.

The Responsibilities Of Officers

The center responsibilities of an officer is to monitor criminal activity, patrol around areas they are assigned to, respond to emergency calls, make arrests, issue tickets, and investigate crimes. The work place varies depending on the duty you get. If you need to investigate a crime they send you to a crime scene to get clues, if you need to monitor crime most of the time you'll be staking out or waiting for an opportunity to stop the crime. The income for this job is 47,291 per year. The pay is a 20.70 an hour.

Do I Still Want This Job/Career?

To my knowledge i think it will be difficult to handle the shifts because sometimes you won't be able to spend time with your love ones that much. One of the good perks of this career is that due to all the stress and things you go through during your time in the force you get offered early retirement after 20-25 years of working in the force. This career is beneficial to society because even though sometimes cops take their power over there head they help a lot when it comes to solving crimes or helping someone that is getting abused. This job will benefit my city because it needs more people that are willing to help it become a safe place for the kids that are barely learning to live.

In conclusion this career is really important to the society because if we didn't have cops there would always be chaos around the country and no one would step up to stop it or even help out. This career fits me because I like to help people get through tough situations. I also think is a good career because honestly I want to help out the city I was raised in no matter the cost.
